Learn how to avoid dry skin
It is already known that drinking at least two liters of water per day is essential for the proper functioning of the body and maintenance of skin hydration. However, in addition to water intake, the skin needs other care to preserve its hydration and youthful appearance.
Brazilian aesthetics teacher Elizabete Rodrigues explains that the skin needs water and oil to maintain the balance of the hydrolipidic mantle. She says "When the skin is well hydrated, it has a glow quality and good elasticity. The dehydrated skin is dry, opaque, rough and with a tendency to peeling. With lack of hydration, it loses elasticity faster, and begins to develop lines of expression and small wrinkles".
The esthetician reveals that it is extremely important to protect the skin from the sun's aggressions with the use of sunscreen, as well as protect it from the intense cold. "Avoid very hot baths that favor evaporation of water on the skin, and the excessive use of soaps, which overly remove the fat from the skin and cause imbalance of the hydrolipidic mantle, favoring dehydration", explains Elizabete.
Moisturizer is mandatory, says the professional. "The choice of moisturizer depends on factors that determine the characteristics of each type of skin. Some people do not seek help from experts to buy the correct moisturizer for the skin type and use the moisturizer indicated by other people. However, the moisturizing that serves one skin, may not serve another", she points out.
Around the age of 25 to 30, the skin naturally begins to lose its water retention capacity, as well as to decrease the production of proteins that help in the formation of collagen, and the dreaded lines of expression begin to appear. "As the skin begins to have difficulty in retaining the moisture needed to maintain hydration, it begins to lose elasticity. As a result, the epidermis becomes thinner and drier and begins to develop fine lines and wrinkles, "says Elizabete, who is also the coordinator of the Aesthetic Technologist course at the University of Amazonia-Unama.
"Another tip to maintain hydration is to have a Facial done on the skin once a month or every two months, according to professional indication. With skin free of excess oil in the pores, hydration will be facilitated and will have better quality in permeation of actives, which will restore skin quality, promote integrity and maintain hydration", she concludes.
